50th REUNION - JUNE 12 - 14, 2015

June 9th email to those attending an event this weekend:

Dear Classmate,

After two years of planning, your 50th reunion weekend is here.  We look forward to seeing you and reminiscing about our TJ high school years.  I wanted to just review some of the weekend's details to help you prepare.

NAME TAGS

You, as well as your guest, will receive your official name tag badge at the 1st event you attend this weekend.  PLEASE KEEP IT HANDY FOR ALL OTHER EVENTS....

ATTIRE, ETC.

  1. Friday night at the Westin Hotel is casualstarts at 6:00 PM
  2. Saturday at TJ is casualstarts at 10:00 AM... Enter at the main entrance on Grace Street (up the steps to the second floor).

**Handicap entrance and parking is available on the Antrim Street side of the building (enter from Malvern behind the school to get there).

Parking is available behind the school and on the streets around it.

  1. Football Players gathering at Westin Hotel, Haddock suite – 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
  2. Saturday night at the Country Club of Virginia (CCV) starts at 6:00 PM-MIDNIGHT

·         Gentleman must wear a sport coat (NO TIE REQUIRED),

·         Ladies are expected to dress appropriately and in good taste.

·         Blue jeans and hats are prohibited.

·         Valet Parking is provided for you by your committee and CCV.  Please remember the drivers at the end of the evening with a gratuity.

  1. Sunday Brunch at the Westwood Club is casual – starts at 9:30 AM

PICTURES

Our classmate, Milton Chick, will be the official photographer for the weekend so be sure you gather your friends to get a photo we can publish on the website and for your memory file.  On Saturday night at about 9:00 PM, our classmate, John Henley, will be taking the official classmate photo at CCV, so make a note of that as well.  Here is a link to John Henley’s pictorial book of Richmond - http://www.twinlightspub.com/description.asp?id=213 .

Since many of us have smart phones with cameras, please remember to share your weekend photos with us.  However, please do not attempt to email your pictures to us as our email account’s capacity is not large enough to handle the size of today’s high resolution pictures.  We have set up a Dropbox account that can handle up to 2 GB.  If you would like to “deposit” your pictures into our Dropbox account to be shared on our website, please email Reunion@TJClassof1965.com for instructions on how to gain access to our Dropbox through the internet.  CDs, DVDs, and USB/thumb drives are also acceptable methods of delivery.  You may email Reunion@TJClassof1965.com for mailing and/or personal delivery instructions of those types of media.

Dear Classmates ,

It’s time to make your commitments for the 50th reunion of your TJ Class of 1965 on June 12, 13, and 14.  Invitations are heading to the printer now and you should have them by March.  The weekend activities are full of fun, food, music, and renewing friendships old and new.  Here is the schedule and hotel information (if you are coming from out of town).

a.     Friday night-cocktail welcome reception for all classmates and their guest at the Westin Hotel, the official hotel of your class.  Make reservations at TJ Class of 1965 Celebrates its 50th Reunion: This will be early enough that you can plan an evening out with other classmates and friends.

b.    Saturday morning, visit TJ, see all the upgrades to the locker rooms, weight rooms, new scoreboards (there are a number of familiar names on the lockers... how many can you find is the 1st quiz),  see the new Marquee, and find your home room and home room number.  ->2nd quiz & more!

c.     Saturday night's celebration will be at the Country Club of Virginia (CCV) [ http://www.theccv.org/ ], with a delicious cocktail reception followed by a sumptuous sit down dinner. Gentlemen, you must wear a sports coat (tie not necessary) and for all, NO JEANS ALLLOWED! Weather permitting, we will be able to celebrate on the covered patio, as well as the formal dining room.   Food allergies and requirements will be done for you.  Adult beverages will be available via a cash bar.

d.    Music throughout Saturday evening will be provided by the outstanding KOS - the Kings of Swing [ http://www.kosband.com/ ]... Send us your music requests now.

e.    Sunday will be our traditional brunch at the Westwood Club… [ http://www.WestwoodClub.net

The full weekend costs will be $150 per person.  If you can’t wait for the invitations you can send your checks payable to “TJ Class of 1965” and mail them to me at 11825 Eastkent Square, Henrico, VA 23238.  With the support of your class’s Benefactors, “Scholarships” will be available again for our 50th.  Please contact me at 804-350-1866 or Charles Douglass at 804-288-0718 ext 221 if you need financial assistance to attend.
