special requests

Today’s issue of forty65 contains two special requests, both of which involve making visits to our class website (which, by the way, Charles has recently been redesigned).

Here’s the first:

Please review the list of classmates who are still “missing.” Now that invitations are out, we want to make a last concerted effort to find everyone we can possibly find. Send information to me or to Charles Douglass at Reunion@TJclassof1965.com

news from classmates

Arlene Messler Harrell ( Richmond ) writes, “For the last 26 years I have been working as a Medical Technologist. I am very involved in the fight for women's reproductive rights, through my work as well as attending several pro-choice rallies over the years.”

Mimi Heydeman Dash ( Falls Church ): “I do feel that TJ prepared me to be a ‘thinker’ and as such I found myself frequently working as an advocate for many causes. An elementary teacher for 30 years, I tried to teach these vital skills to my students. At the same time, I worked to advocate for my profession…. I continue my advocacy as an elected retiree representative in Fairfax on a committee advising the school system on employee benefits.”

Lynn Greentree Heiman (OH) owns “a small business which assists individuals with the management of their medical bills and health insurance claims.” She enjoys playing golf, visiting family in Richmond and Atlanta , and traveling to Florida .

more music makers

Barbara Overton ( Viewtown , VA ) has fond memories of choir and operettas at TJ. She has sung with the Richmond Choral Society and her church choir, and has done some solo work. She continues “to take great joy in all music, from Opera to Motown.”

Philip Koslow (NV) has managed orchestras in Florida and Alaska . He is currently the Executive Director of the Las Vegas Philharmonic in Las Vegas , Nevada where, he says, “Beethoven thrives amongst the neon on the ‘Strip.’”

condolences

Our condolences go to Ronnie Feibish Thomas (FL), whose husband Jim died in early July, of complications following emergency surgery. Ronnie writes that Jim had heard so many TJ stories, he had looked forward to traveling with her to our reunion in October. Ronnie herself still hopes to be able to join us.

let us know

And now, here’s the second special request:

Please take a look at the memorial page on our class website. Since those classmates are no longer with us to share memories of their own, we ask you to send us your memories of them. We'd like to honor as many as possible in this way.

We look forward to hearing from you. And, as always, thanks!
